For the uninitiated, a total solar eclipse is a rare event where the moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking the Sun's light and creating a shadow on the Earth's surface.
This eclipse will cast its awe-inspiring shadow across parts of North America, offering a rare opportunity to witness the celestial ballet between the sun, moon, and Earth. As anticipation builds, we bring you a guide to the best places to experience the 2024 total solar eclipse, where you can marvel at this natural wonder in all its glory.

If you could go anywhere this year, where would it be? I don’t know what your answer would be, but according to Travel and Leisure, the best city in the world to visit this year is San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It’s about 3 hours north of Mexico City.
The top city in the U.S.?
After months of wondering what this all-inclusive resort would be like, we finally arrived - ready to par-tay (and of course celebrate the wedding of two friends, Lori and Mike. Congrats guys!). If you'd care to read about the adventure Crystal and I had to the resort you can, right here!
My trip to Mexico started out about as hectic as I remember any trip I've ever been on. Crystal and I left my Dallas apartment at about 7:00am to drop off my keys for the cat sitter before heading to DFW International Airport. Our flight didn't leave until 11:00am but we left early because the whole way there was an ice rink (sadly, I'm not exaggerating). The night before it snowed and/or sleeted about 3-7 inches in the area. And let me tell you, for a city the size of Dallas, (which has seen it's fair share of winter weather every year I've lived here) it is completely ill-equipped to handle any amount of snow or ice. As luck - and my driving skillzz - would have it, we got to the airport without incident at about 9:00am.
Early next year I'll be headed to Mexico with Crystal for one of her friend's weddings. It'll be at the all-inclusive El Dorado Seaside Suites. Yeah, we'll really be slumming it. The humanity! In all actuality (and if you didn't click on that link) it looks really nice. And by really nice I mean jaw-on-the-floor nice. Still can't believe I'll be staying there. I've never stayed at an all-inclusive. We're booking the stay through a travel agent, which is kinda nice. We don't have to worry about anything except being where we're supposed to be when we're supposed to be there (I'm looking at you Crystal). Cost |
