As technology continues to advance, artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing various aspects of our lives, including (potentially) the way we plan and experience vacations. AI offers a myriad of benefits, streamlining the vacation planning process and enhancing the overall travel experience. However, it also raises concerns about personalization, privacy, and the loss of human touch. So I decided it was a good idea to explore the good and the bad of using AI for planning a vacation.

Credit scores are an essential aspect of our financial lives, and they play a crucial role in determining our ability to borrow money from lenders, obtain credit cards, or even get a job. But how do they work, why are they essential, and what factors influence them?
What is a Credit Score? A credit score is a numerical representation of an individual's creditworthiness, and it is based on their credit history. The most widely used credit score in the United States is the FICO score, which ranges from 300 to 850. The higher the score, the better the individual's creditworthiness. Credit scores are used by lenders, banks, and other financial institutions to evaluate an individual's credit risk. A good credit score makes it easier to obtain loans, credit cards, and mortgages at favorable terms, while a poor credit score can make it difficult to obtain credit or result in higher interest rates. How is a Credit Score Calculated? Napa Valley and Sonoma County are two of California's most famous wine regions, drawing in millions of visitors each year. But which one is better? The answer may be subjective, but one thing is for sure: both regions offer unique wine experiences and breathtaking landscapes.
Join me, as we compare Napa and Sonoma, looking at the differences in winery styles, food, scenery, and overall vibe. So grab a glass of your favorite wine and let's dive into the battle of the California wine regions. Napa Valley Napa Valley is one of the most popular wine regions in the world. With its picturesque vineyards, delicious wine, and luxurious spas and resorts, it's not surprising that Napa attracts plenty of visitors from all over the world. There are over 400 wineries in the area. Some of the most popular wineries include Robert Mondavi, Beringer Vineyards, and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. Most wineries offer tastings and tours, with prices varying depending on the winery and the type of tasting you want. Sonoma Costa Rica, with coasts on both the Caribbean and Pacific, is renowned for its beautiful beaches, lush rainforests, and incredible biodiversity. It’s no wonder the Central American country gets roughly 2 million tourists from all over the world a year. If you're planning a trip to Costa Rica, here's what you need to know.
When to Go The best time to visit Costa Rica really depends on your travel preferences. If you're looking for sunny weather and warm temperatures, the dry season, which runs from December to April, is the best time to go. During this time, the beaches are perfect for swimming and surfing, and the rainforest is less humid. However, keep in mind that this is peak tourist season, so prices may be higher, and the popular destinations may be crowded. If you're looking to save money and don't mind a bit of rain, the rainy season, which runs from May to November, can also be a great time to visit. During this time, the rainforest is lush and green, and the countryside is teeming with life. The afternoon showers are usually short-lived and can actually add to the natural beauty of the country. How to Get There Mark your calendars for an astronomical event of a lifetime! As anticipation builds, we bring you a guide to the best places to experience the 2024 total solar eclipse, where you can marvel at this natural wonder in all its glory.
Chase has unveiled its latest offering aimed at enhancing the travel experience of its Chase Sapphire cardholders. The highly anticipated (at least in the travel credit card community) Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club, designed to provide a haven of comfort and luxury, are about to open up in major airports worldwide. In fact, Chase already opened its first U.S. lounge at Boston Logan in May and plans on opening several more in major airports worldwide, which would make them a direct competitor with the standard-bearer in the luxury airport lounge space, American Express and their Centurion Lounge.
Where will the locations of these lounges be? Sapphire Lounges are certainly an innovative addition to the array of benefits already offered by the Chase Sapphire card, which has gained popularity for its exceptional travel perks. The new lounges will be strategically located in some of the world's busiest airports, catering to both domestic and international travelers. Besides Boston, there is already a lounge open in Hong Kong. According to Chase, lounges will soon open up in several other airports, including: With its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and warm weather, it’s no wonder the Caribbean is a popular destination for couples looking for a romantic getaway.
The Caribbean is a region that is mostly defined geographically by the Caribbean Sea, which is located to the east of Central America and to the north of South America. It is bounded by several island nations, including the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, and more. The region attracts millions of visitors each year who come to enjoy the region's natural beauty, vibrant music, delicious cuisine, and rich history. Interested in visiting some of the most epic places on earth? Go on a cruise. Intrigued about taking it slow and traveling across the Atlantic like we used to before air travel? Go on a cruise. Want to see Europe, Africa, South America, Antarctica, or other parts of the world in a way you haven’t? Go on a cruise. You can see extravagant parts of the world in a whole slew of different ways by going on a cruise and it seems like more and more people are beginning to realize that.
The cruise industry took it on the chin for a while (beginning around March of 2020), but the industry is currently poised for a massive comeback. According to a recent AAA survey, 52% of U.S. adults are just as likely or more likely to consider booking a cruise as they were before the COVID-19 pandemic started. For context, only 45% answered the same way a year ago. “Cruising is back in a big way. We expect a lot more people to book cruises in 2023,” says Paula Twidale, AAA Senior Vice President of Travel. There are several factors for this:
“Cruise lines have undertaken extensive measures to promote health and safety onboard, so you can expect attention to detail and cleanliness,” said Twidale. Cruise deals What do you do if your traveling partner doesn’t have TSA Precheck but you do? As far as I see it, you have two options: trudge through the normal security line with your partner or go your separate ways at security and meet up on the other side. It’s the kind of question that can bring out strongly held opinions. Kinda like asking someone whether it’s pronounced pecan or pecan (admit it, you read that two different ways)! It’s a question we’ve been discussing in the King household as of late. Not only because we’ve been looking to travel a little bit more, but because I have TSA Precheck and my wife does not. We’ll get to what we typically do in a minute, but first let’s rewind the clock and begin with what TSA Precheck is.
What is TSA Precheck? TSA Precheck is a government-run screening program that allows those who sign up a way to bypass the usual security checkpoint for a shorter, expedited route through those TSA security checkpoints. For $85 (which will enroll you in Precheck for five years), you get to take advantage of several perks, including not having to take off your shoes or belt, and leaving your laptop or your 3-1-1 bag in your carry on. If a couple is traveling together, you’ll often find both will get TSA Precheck even if only one of you has gone through the application process. The TSA is mum about why this happens/doesn’t happen, but back in 2018 the House of Representatives passed a bill to try to stop this practice - before the Senate let it die in 2019. Go through together or split up at security? Travel is coming back - and in a big way. Vacationers are boldly stepping out of their homes with suitcases in tow as they squint into the bright sunlight with the smell of summer all around them.
But enough about me. In all seriousness, there are several great anecdotal examples that prove this is the case: Will travel make a resurgence in 2021? It’s hard to tell at this point. COVID-19 is still at the front of everyone’s mind. Safety, of course, should also be a priority for everyone who travels. And as hard as it was for me to accept, there are other people you have to think about before you travel besides yourself. For example, if you’re traveling long distances to see loved ones, are you potentially endangering them? Are there people in your family who are in an older age bracket or have compromised immune systems? How about if you’re a young couple trying to start a family. Is traveling worth the risk? These are all questions you have to consider now before traveling. It’s something you have to consider before a) going on vacation while living with or near a family member who is compromised and/or b) traveling to see someone who may be compromised. Obviously, if you’re the person who has a compromised immune system and/or is more susceptible to COVID-19, you have to figure out if travel is worth the risk as well.
It’s not all bad, however, and that’s why we may see a resurgence in travel in 2021! When it comes to miles and points you’ll read about a particular mindset a lot. That mindset basically centers around the idea that the ONLY way to use your miles and points is for travel. If you use them for anything else, you’re ‘doing it wrong.’
Don’t fall into that trap. Mathematically, of course, using your miles and points for travel-related purchases will get you the most bang for your buck. And that’s, of course, good! You want that. However, there’s a better way to use your points. To anyone who asks, I always say the best use of your points is how YOU want to use them. For example, I prefer using them for travel-related purchases to get the most out of my miles and points. But what happens if, on the off chance that this ever happens, there’s a global pandemic caused by a virus that kills hundreds of thousands of people, puts countries all over the world on lock down, and restricts your ability to travel indefinitely? She’s a natural
She stepped off her stage with a smile that went ear to ear. Queenie had never done anything like that before. “That was exhilarating!” she exclaimed as she walked away from her instrument. Exhilarating is right. Not only was that the first time she had done anything like that, she, in fact, became the first in the world to do that. Queenie could hear the crowd in the distance as they cheered her on. After years of hard work, she had achieved a goal of hers. But that - well, that was just the beginning for her. We were all sitting around the dining room table playing Speak Out - ya know, the game where you stick the plastic piece in your mouth and try not to sound like a complete fool. “Oh, I got it! ‘The mailman is a tad mall slayer!?" I basically screamed. “Wha?! No,” my brother sloppily said with drool coming out of his mouth. “Times up!” said my sister. Her team was currently winning. We all started cracking up. “What were you saying?” “Ugh. The mailman is a bad ballplayer. Bad! Ball-player! That’s what I was saying! Jeez.” We were all laughing, having a great time! And that was usually the case whenever we were all together at the Lakehouse. So far, this was shaping up to be a fantastic week in southern Michigan. Not only did we have family games planned for most nights, that were, of course, paired with (probably) copious amounts of alcohol, we also had a bonfire planned, a relaxing day on the water, and great conversations we won’t soon forget. That’s what a typical stay is like at the Lakehouse my siblings and I own. It’s actually a house that not only has been in my family since it was built, it also has quite a history. History of The Cozy Lakehouse From going on a whale watching tour to visiting the (not-quite) first ever Starbucks, there’s plenty to do during a visit to Seattle. Honestly, the hard part is narrowing down your list.
Enjoy outdoor activities? The list is nearly endless. Are you a foodie? Plenty of options at your disposal. Like exploring craft beer? Your taste buds will thank you. But if you only have two or three days to explore the city, what should you do? And what should you skip? Here’s your answer: Things to do during a weekend in Seattle |
