New York is an amazing city. I lived there for three months while interning at MSNBC in college. If you've never been, I'd highly recommend visiting. This week, in Picture This, a semi-regular series on The Keith King Report, is a picture blog of New York - specifically, Manhattan. If you're interested in more on this series, you can find the others in the series here.

It’s true: I’ve been talking about how you can save a ton on travel with credit cards as of late. I mean, I did write a book on it. So sue me. Oh! And you can buy it here if you’d like. You’re welcome :) Anyways, where was I? Right: saving on travel. There are plenty of other ways to go about saving money while traveling. I wrote about a couple of them here. Unfortunately, when it comes to flights - the "deals" are harder to come by. It’s just the way it is. So what can you do to fly on the cheap? Don’t believe everything you hear
Are you a fan of reading?? So am I! Over the past few months I’ve rediscovered my love for reading. I try to read (or listen to) two books a month.
Reading books can transport you to a far off place without actually having to physically go. It is relaxing. It’s informative. And it can make you a smarter, wiser, more rounded individual. Get Book Suggestions Sent Directly to Your Inbox Once a Month
Have you ever thought that you may have to take out a personal loan just to go on a family vacation? Yeah. Vacations can be frickin’ expensive. It varies year-to-year, but according to American Express, Americans spent an average of $941 per person in 2016. So if a family of four is planning a little getaway, it’ll set them back $3,764. Not an easy amount to save.
And don’t get me started on additional costs if you have a pet. If you have to board your dog? Fuhgeddaboudit. Might as well cash out your IRA now. That’s the bad news. The good news? You’re about to learn a few tips and tricks that can save you thousands. About a month ago I told you how to spend a weekend getaway in Lucerne. This week, I'm gonna expand on that post with Picture This, a semi-regular series on The Keith King Report where I show you some of the best pictures I take during my trips. You can find the first of the series here.
What a year, huh?! And, sadly, I may be one of the few who means that with excitement (I feel like I said something similar last year). In short, I got engaged and wrote a book that’s been pretty successful since I published it in November. I mean, what’s there to complain about??
The question is, what are my top posts from the past year? Here they are:
Those who are frequent visitors already know I love taking advantage of credit card rewards. For the new readers? Well, now you know. Credit card rewards can be very lucrative. I’ve easily saved thousands by using my miles and points for free flights or free stays at hotels.
The rewards you earn make it possible for you to afford to travel to an expensive destination (such as Bora Bora or Australia) or stay longer at a cheap location (such as Prague or Vietnam). Points and miles can also change how you actually do the traveling. Wanna fly first class? Use your miles. Getting points
First, I don’t know if there’s a country that is more breathtaking than Switzerland. The country is as beautiful as it is expensive. And Lucerne is no exception.
I would describe Lucerne as a fairly compact city with a lake on one side, and mountains around all other sides. If nothing else, it’s certainly a walkable area. But what can you do to occupy your time there during a weekend getaway and not break the bank? Here’s your answer: Take a walk around the city’s Old Town
The past few months have been a whirlwind. And admittedly, it’s been a little more quiet than usual on this blog. And to be honest, there’s a reason for that. Today, I want to give you a little update on what’s happening over at The Keith King Report.
I’ve been quite busy on several projects, both in a professional capacity and personally. So while blogs haven’t been happening as of late, a lot of other stuff has been: It’s the day I’ve been looking forward to for months now! My book is now officially out! You can get the ebook version or paperback!
For now, it is exclusively on sale on Amazon. Here’s the direct link to both versions. It’s an easy read and probably won’t take you more than a day or two. But it’s extremely educational and certainly worth every penny - especially when you consider how much you can potentially save on travel. A few weeks back I told you how to spend a weekend getaway in Munich. This week, I'm gonna expand on that post with Picture This, a semi-regular series on The Keith King Report where I show you some of the best pictures I take during my trips. You can find the first of the series here.
I admit, Munich was not how I imagined it would be. And that’s not a bad thing. I originally thought it was going to be less modern than it was. But it’s about as modern a city as there is in the world. It’s also got a historic district and the two blend together very nicely.
The German city is in Bavaria (south eastern part of Germany) and is home to roughly 1.5 million people. With its size, there’s no shortage of options at your disposal during a visit. But what should you do if you’re planning to hit it and then quit it after a few days? Here’s your list: Hofbrauhaus
There’s a war going on in the skies above us. What’s it over? You, the airline passenger. Specifically, the airlines are upping their game when it comes to your comfort in business class.
It’s really a fascinating subject. In the three videos below, Richard Quest, the host of CNN Business Traveller, takes an in depth look at United’s new Polaris business class and how it stacks up against the competition. Each video is just over 7 minutes. I’d highly recommend watching each of them. Are they completely unbiased? Probably not. But entertaining and informative nonetheless.
It’s no secret, I’m a big fan of Apple. I use a lot of their products. You may be the same. But with 2017 being the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone (doesn’t it seem longer than that?), I knew something special was going to be announced. And it was. Not only did they announce changes to the Apple Watch, but they also introduced three new iPhones: the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and, the belle of the ball, the iPhone X (pronounced as “iPhone 10”).
All three are improvements from older handsets, but how much of an improvement? Well, that depends on who you ask. The motions ranged from disappointment, to excitement. But one thing is for sure: all three are great for travel. And here’s why: Just last week I told you how to spend a weekend getaway in Prague.
This week, I'm gonna expand on that post with Picture This, a semi-regular series on The Keith King Report where I show you some of the best pictures I take during my trips. You can find the first of the series, Picture This: Amsterdam, here. The following photos are from Prague. |
