I don't know about you, but I need coffee. I do crazy things before I have it. A perfect example happened one morning this week. I like milk in my coffee, so after I made some I opened the fridge, grabbed a jug, and thought I was putting milk in my coffee. I wasn't. I was pouring some high pulp orange juice in it. Don't ask. Like I said, I do crazy things before any of it gets into my system in the morning. As is evident by now, I need it. Everyday. Traveling is no exception. So I got to thinking: how many different kinds of coffee drinks are there? Turns out, there are a lot!

When it comes to loyalty programs this could be a game changer. Come sometime this spring, American Express will be launching Plenti, a cross-brand loyalty program that includes some of the biggest companies in the country. The program will basically allow you to earn Plenti points at one place and redeem them at another. Right now, a total of eight companies are part of the program: AT&T, Exxon, Macy's, Mobil, Nationwide, Rite Aid, Direct Energy, and Hulu. In addition, American Express says they expect to add more companies (what's not clear is whether it'll be before or after the launch).

Booze is a big business. Every year more than $400 billion is spent on beer, bourbon, wine, and other kinds of alcohol. And there's no doubt, the tourism side of the industry is certainly alive and well. In the DFW area alone there are at least 40 breweries, several distilleries, and (a quick google search shows) roughly 45 wineries within driving distance of DFW. And I'm sure there are plenty of each of those near wherever you live too. But don't limit yourself by staying nearby. There are hundreds of options around the country you can drink in! Here's just a taste
I love road trips. Maybe it's the freedom of the open road, or seeing things you'd never see by flying. Whatever it is, a road trip is something I'm always up for.
At the same time, though, there is a certain amount of "fear" that goes into a road trip. But it's mainly something like being crammed into a car with people for hours at a time, or fighting with your siblings over something meaningless like who sits where. Don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about. Why go on a road trip? Why not? It's cheaper than paying full price for a plane ticket and hotel stays. Plus, there are several ways you can make them even cheaper:
After months of wondering what this all-inclusive resort would be like, we finally arrived - ready to par-tay (and of course celebrate the wedding of two friends, Lori and Mike. Congrats guys!). If you'd care to read about the adventure Crystal and I had to the resort you can, right here!
My trip to Mexico started out about as hectic as I remember any trip I've ever been on. Crystal and I left my Dallas apartment at about 7:00am to drop off my keys for the cat sitter before heading to DFW International Airport. Our flight didn't leave until 11:00am but we left early because the whole way there was an ice rink (sadly, I'm not exaggerating). The night before it snowed and/or sleeted about 3-7 inches in the area. And let me tell you, for a city the size of Dallas, (which has seen it's fair share of winter weather every year I've lived here) it is completely ill-equipped to handle any amount of snow or ice. As luck - and my driving skillzz - would have it, we got to the airport without incident at about 9:00am.
I'm about to start packing for my trip to Mexico! Can't wait! Before long, I'll be lounging on the beach with a cold brew in my hand. In the meantime, I thought I'd pass along some packing tips to help you out on your next trip. Who hasn't struggled with packing?! Lord knows I have. And let's face it - unless you have a credit card that allows you to get a free checked bag or two - checking bags is expensive. That means the better you pack, the more money you can save.
